Abstract
A new theoretical model for the equation of state of deuterium is proposed. It is based mainly on a non linear mixing law of a molecular phase and a m etallic plasma phase. This law is shown to have a large effect on the mixtu re EOS either with Sesame or Ross approximations for the pure phases. In ad dition to the non linear mixing law, a Ross-like model in which the free en ergy of the bare OCP in the metallic plasma phase is replaced by the free e nergy of a plasma of ions interacting by Yukawa potentials fits the Nova ex periments fairly well, without containing any empirical parameter.
