After extracapsular cataract extraction with in-the-bag intraocular lens im
plantation, a 72-year-old woman had reduced visual acuity from posterior ca
psule opacification (PCO) resulting from Elschnig pearl proliferation. No c
apsulotomy was performed, and the PCO decreased spontaneously over time, im
