Using gas-liquid chromatography (GLC), activity coefficients at infinite di
lution have been measured for 37 solutes (alkanes, alkenes, cyclic hydrocar
bons, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, ethers, aldehydes, eaters,
and halocarbons) in the solvents epsilon-caprolactone and ethyl benzoate. T
he measurements were carried out in the temperature range between (303.15 a
nd 343.15) K. The gamma(infinity) values obtained were compared with publis
hed data, and the observed temperature dependence of the limiting activity
coefficients was confirmed using excess enthalpy data.
