Abstract
The effects of Mn2+ incorporation added in liquid state during processing o n the dielectric properties including temperature dependence of permittivit y, dielectric loss, and DC bias characteristics of BaTiO3-based X7R materia ls are discussed. Experiments reveal that a proper concentration of Mn2+ ca n significantly improve the dielectric loss properties of the system, flatt en the temperature-dependence curve though at some loss of the magnitude of permittivity. At the same time, the phenomenon of Mn2+ existence improving DC bias properties of BaTiO3-based X7R system is reported. The outstanding characteristic with stable or ascending value vs. imposing DC bias is very promising for practical use in high performance multilayer ceramic capacit ors (MLCs).
