The effects of Mn2+ incorporation added in liquid state during processing o
n the dielectric properties including temperature dependence of permittivit
y, dielectric loss, and DC bias characteristics of BaTiO3-based X7R materia
ls are discussed. Experiments reveal that a proper concentration of Mn2+ ca
n significantly improve the dielectric loss properties of the system, flatt
en the temperature-dependence curve though at some loss of the magnitude of
permittivity. At the same time, the phenomenon of Mn2+ existence improving
DC bias properties of BaTiO3-based X7R system is reported. The outstanding
characteristic with stable or ascending value vs. imposing DC bias is very
promising for practical use in high performance multilayer ceramic capacit
