Abstract
A novel experimental method for investigation of the time evolution of nucl ear reactions in the range 10(-15)-10(-10) s is presented. This method is b ased on the phenomenon of energy loss of charged particles in solids. The p ossibility of the employment of the new technique to study the time charact eristics of the heavy nucleus fission process in the near-threshold energy range, formation and decay of short-lived spontaneously fissionable isomers and excited superheavy nuclei was analysed.
