It is shown that measurements of the spin rotation parameters in np elastic
scattering allow to remove discrete ambiguities in a partial-wave analysis
and, hence, to get a unique solution. Recent results obtained in experimen
ts at ITEP accelerator are presented, and perspectives of further measureme
nts are discussed.
Another valuable contribution to the spectroscopy of nonstrange baryons com
es from extensive investigation of pi(-)p reactions with neutral particles
in the final state. Two complementary programs of studying pi(-)p reactions
with neutral particles in the final state are now underway at the accelera
tors of PNPI and BNL. A brief description of experimental setups and exampl
es of obtained results are given.
