Abstract
A Raman-active crystal, lanthanum tungstate doped with praseodymium (Pr) io ns, was grown to facilitate the selection of the order of Stokes waves in s timulated Raman scattering. Absorption of the second Stokes wave by the Pr ions suppressed conversion to higher-order Stokes waves, resulting in effic ient energy conversion to the first Stokes wave.
