Abstract
Local measurements of solid concentration in depth wound cartridge filters using X-ray computerized tomography (XCT) are described. The filters were c ontaminated with glass bead particles, which exhibit high contrast in the t omographic images. Segmentation of the successive original slices was appli ed and solid profile concentrations along the filters were obtained. 3D rec onstruction techniques permitted the modeling of the spatial distribution o f the solid particles captured by the filters.
