Abstract
Drift-resonant Landau excitation of spiral density waves in a stellar disk of flat galaxies is proposed. This excitation of waves is suggested as a me chanism for the formation of structural features such as spiral arms and th e slow dynamical relaxation of galaxies in a regime of hydrodynamical Jeans -type stability.
