Three interference asymmetry effects in the angular distributions of fragme
nts originating from U-233 fission induced by resonance neutrons were measu
red. The energy dependences of the asymmetry factors being studied show siz
able irregularities that are associated, according to modern theory, with t
he interference of s and p resonances at the stage of a compound nucleus. T
he basic features of weak p-wave resonances in the low-energy region were o
btained from a global theoretical analysis of the asymmetry factors as func
tions of energy. The first estimates of nuclear matrix elements of weak int
eraction were derived for a few p-wave resonances. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Int
