Abstract
Interest in student transfer/attendance patterns remains high. There is con siderable evidence that the traditional perception of transfer from a singl e community college directly to university is becoming less the norm than i n the past. In a continuation of a research consortium project begun in 199 2, an urban university and three community colleges investigated the comple x nature of student attendance/transfer patterns and their effects on stude nt achievement in terms of credits transferred, GPA performance after trans fer, degree completion, and time to degree. While previous research has doc umented the varied patterns of student attendance/transfer, the goal of thi s phase of the study was to identify what effects, ii any, these varied pat terns have on student performance.
