Abstract
An improved synthesis of 2,3-pyridinedicarboxylic acid is proposed, providi ng a higher yield of the target product. The acid was used as starting mate rial for the synthesis of dithio-beta-isoindigo. The IR and electronic spec tra of the latter were studied.
