Airblast spray applications were made using different combinations of the n
ozzle disc-core sizes, number of nozzles, and groundspeed. Spray targets we
re positioned at several spatial locations in open space and deposition was
determined by copper colorimetry. Overall, deposition efficiency increased
as speed increased or core size decreased. However for low-volume applicat
ions, the use of fewer smaller nozzles at lower speeds was more effective t
han using more nozzles at higher speeds. The trend was opposite for larger
nozzles and high-volume rates.
