Abstract
Present study Is mainly focused on the performance of Air-Sparged Hydrocycl one (ASH) in comparison with conventional flotation treating Indian coking coal fines of size less than 0.5 mm. Two different coal fines were used for the study. Efficacy of ASH was examined by studying the effect of inlet sl urry pressure, air flowrate. underflow opening, vortex finder diameter and length of the ASH. It has been noted that ASH requires multi stage flotatio n to achieve comparable metallurgical performance with conventional flotati on.
