Abstract
In fourty-nine cattle a laparoscopic examination was carried out because of suspicious disease of the abdominal tract according to clinical findings. Laparoscopic technique turned out as a appropiate method for diagnosis of p eritonitis of the dorsolateral region of the abdominal cavity. The ventral parts of the abdominal cavity could not be inspected because of the use of a 180 degrees laparoscope and the location of insertion. The laparoscopic m ethod was a successful tool for diagnosis of the following diseases: perito nitis of the cranial parts of the abdominal cavity, caused by foreign bodie s or laparotomy, and left displacement of the abomasum. In case of non-infl ammatory diseases of the intestinal tract (intestines) laparoscopy is not a ppropriate. Laparoscopic examination should be carried out in every suspici ous case of abdominal disease to support the clinical diagnosis and to make decision of further measurements.
