The Pull-Out experiment is used for determination of the bond strength betw
een fiber and matrix in fiber reinforced composites. An interface crack gro
wth between both constituents and a contact friction behaviour on the crack
ed area can be observed in the experiment. In our contribution this mechani
cal behaviour of the interface is simulated in the framework of Interface D
amage Mechanics. The displacement discontinuities during the progressive de
cohesion are related to constitutive equations extended by a damage model.
The contact/friction behaviour after complete separation is described by a
friction model analogous to the classical theory of plasticity.
