This paper discusses the results of a systematic experimental investigation
on 306 stretcher bonded concrete hollow block masonry prisms under axial c
ompression for the influence of the block-mortar strength combinations, blo
ck geometry, height to thickness ratio (h/t) of block, mortar bedding, ann
thickness of mortar joint. The test results are then used to derive a predi
ction relation for a rational assessment of the compessive strength of maso
nry prisms.
