Thin films of superconducting (TMTSF)(2)ClO4 (where TMTSF = tetramethyltetr
aselenafulvalene) have been prepared by simply immersing crystals of (TMTSF
)(2)PF6 in dichloromethane solutions of (Bu4N+-ClO4-)-Bu-n. The mechanism o
f this unprecedented, highly efficient, ion-exchange process is examined in
this communication, while the resistance and magnetoresistance of these la
yers are studied as a function of temperature. The morphologies of the film
s are studied by energy dispersive spectrometry.
