Abstract
Predicting three-dimensional structure based on the individual components o f hybrid structures remains one of the greatest challenges of crystal engin eering: however, progress is reported here: For 21 different systems the cr ystallization of phenylacetylene nitriles with silver triflate salts leads to the same basic hexagonal honeycomb structures (see Figure). A rationaliz ation based on interface minimization is proposed.
