Abstract
This study was designed to determine the relation between anticardiolipin a
ntibodies and left atrial and/or left ventricular thrombus detected by tran
sthoracic and/or transesophageal echocardiography in patients with acute my
ocardial infarction, Patients with acute myocardial infarction who had posi
tive anticardiolipin immunoglobulin G and/or immunoglobulin M antibodies ap
peared to be at higher risk for thrombus formation in the left atrium and/o
r left ventricle.
