Jjl. Cross et al., Value of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in the treatment of a calcifying epithelial odontogenic (Pindborg) tumour, BR J ORAL M, 38(2), 2000, pp. 154-157
The calcifying epithelial odontogenic (Pindborg) tumour is a rare primary t
umour of the jaw with a characteristic histological appearance. We describe
here its appearance on computed tomography tan expanding, multilocular les
ion that is thinning both plates of the mandible, is well-defined and conta
ins scattered radio-opaque areas) and magnetic resonance imaging (predomina
ntly hypointense on T1-weighted images and of mixed hyperintensity on T2-we
ighted images; the extent of the tumour including involvement of the mandib
ular canal was clear).
