Abstract
The standard of care for the delivery of mental health services has recentl y undergone a dramatic change spurred on by hundreds of lawsuits against th erapists and by erupting controversies in the science of trauma and dissoci ative disorders. The nature of these changes and the forces that created th em are discussed. Risk management suggestions are Provided.
