Studies on the synthesis and properties of solid state photochromism from 2,2-diarylnaphthopyrans

The title compounds were first designed and synthesized, the structures of all the compounds have been confirmed by H-1 NMR, MS and elemental analysis . Combined with UV-Vis, the photochromism of these compounds was studied in tensively. It was found that some of the 2,2-diarylnaghthopyran compounds s howed a good photochromism in the solid state, changing color quickly. More over, the relationship between the structure and photochromism properties w as analyzed.
