Abstract
A simple model for the evaluation of the microhardness and yield stren gth of ion-implanted metals is presented. Experimental measurements of the microhardness of ion-implanted alpha-Fe are compared with results of calculations. Disagreement between the measured and calculated mic rohardness does not exceed 30%.
