Densities, iseutropic compressibility coefficients, and isobaric molar heat
capacities of the cyclohexane + n-tetradecane binary system were measured
throughout the composition range at atmospheric pressure and temperatures o
f 288.15, 293.15, 298.15 and 308.15 K. Density data were used to obtain the
rmal expansion coefficients and, via appropriate thermodynamic relations, i
sothermal compressibility coefficients and isochoric molar heat capacities.
The excess quantities for these properties were calculated using the ideal
ity criterion of Benson and Kiyohara. The isothermal compressibility coeffi
cients obtained are compared with reported values in order to assess the re
liability of the procedure. The loss of the orientational order in n-tetrad
ecane affects the excess properties of the mixture. (C) 2000 Elsevier Scien
