A high-density single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) map was developed for X
q25-q28 using a targeted approach to SNP discovery. This high-density map i
ncludes 217 new SNP markers, and 117 are informative in the CEPH parent pop
ulation with >20% minor allele frequency. The average distance between SNP
markers is 100 kb in the targeted regions. This is the densest genetic map
of Xq25-q28 to date. The SNP markers are presented in order by their distan
ce in megabases along the X chromosome, and the markers from the current ge
netic map are placed using the same scale to produce an integrated map of t
he region. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
