Abstract
The principal geometrical parameters of the carbon skeleton of similar to C F2(C)over dot FCF(2)similar to and similar to CF2(C)over dotF(2) radicals a t 77 K show good agreement with spiral configuration of a perfluoroalkane m olecule in crystal. The conformations of radicals resulting from fluorine a tom abstraction or C-C bond cleavage are determined by minimum of bond rota tion potential energy in a linear perfluoroalkane helix. The analysis of th e spectrum of similar to CF2(C)over dotFCF(2)similar to and similar to CF2( C)over dotF(2) radicals formed in gamma-irradiated linear n-perfluorododeca ne and polytetrafluoroethylene was performed. The conformational angles and hyperfine coupling constants were determined for alpha- and beta-fluorine atoms at 77.
