The OPEN framework for enhancing productivity

The use of a business-focused development process can greatly facilitate pr oducing and maintaining Cobol programs. The authors outline an OPEN (object -oriented process, environment, and notation) process framework, the most a ppropriate current process for object-oriented and component-based developm ent in a business environment, in the context of implementations using the Cobol language. Its underpinning meta-model and framework make OPEN valuabl e for both development and maintenance.
