Abstract
Joint transform correlator is most suited to find correspondence between tw o opticals signals. If they are identical correlation peaks are seen in the output. However there is noise and extraction of peaks becomes difficult. Present paper proposes simple and efficient filters for improving the perfo rmance of joint transform correlator. Correlation peaks between target and reference on extracted by using simple directional and positional filters. These filters can be used with prior knowledge of the target and reference positions in the input and hence most suitable for finger print identificat ion.
