Abstract
A review of sol-gel materials developed in our laboratory for photonic appl
ications is presented. These materials include planar and strip waveguides
for integrated optics (IO) passive devices, Er doped waveguides for IO ampl
ifiers, films doped with semiconductor quantum dots for optical switching a
nd fullerene doped materials for optical limiting.
