Analytical solutions are obtained for the interior and edge-zone equations
of Mindlin-Reissner plate theory in bending of composite circular sector pl
ates laminated of transversely isotropic layers. Circular sector laminates,
under various boundary conditions, are considered. It is shown that, depen
ding on the boundary conditions of the laminate, the boundary-layer effect
on the response quantities of the laminate will be strong, weak, or nonexis
tent.
