Abstract
Seven cytotoxic 3-alkylpyridine alkaloids, hachijodines A-G, have been isol ated from two marine sponges of the genera Xestospongia and Amphimedon. The ir structures were determined on the basis of spectral data. These alkaloid s are moderately cytotoxic against P388 murine leukemia cells with IC50 val ues of 1.0-2.3 mu g/mL.
