Io. Troyanchuk et al., Effect of oxygen content on the magnetic and transport properties of Pr0.5Ba0.5MnO3-gamma, J PHYS-COND, 12(7), 2000, pp. L155-L158
It is shown that oxidized La0.5Sr0.5(Mn0.53+Mn0.54+)O-3 and reduced Pr0.5Ba
0.5Mn3+O2.75 samples show similar magnetic and magnetoresistive properties.
Both compounds, characterized by T-C approximate to 320 K, exhibit a ferro
magnetic-antiferromagnetic transition around 200 K, where a large magnetore
sistance develops. However, the reduced sample has a much larger resistivit
y than the oxidized one. These data suggest that some of the intriguing pro
perties of the manganites can also be realized without mixed manganese vale
nces.
