Abstract
The potential energy curves for the electronic ground states of astrophysic ally important MgO, SO, SIN and TiO molecules are constructed by the RKRV m ethod. The dissociation energies are determined by curve-fitting techniques using the five parameters Hulburt-Hirschfelder function. The estimated dis sociation energies are 3.674 +/- 0.075, 5.321 +/- 0.113, 4.492 +/- 0.103 an d 6.94 +/- 0.16 eV and MgO, SO, SiN and TiO, respectively. The estimated D- 0 values are in reasonably good agreement with literature values. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
