Dv. Rao et al., Images of weakly attenuating materials and nondestructive evaluation usinga tube source of X-rays, J TR MICROP, 18(2), 2000, pp. 257-273
Images of weakly attenuating materials were obtained using an image intensi
fied based computed tomography scanner and a tube source of X-rays. The ima
ge of a plastic material which contains an internal defect is studied thoro
ughly at optimum value. A reconstruction programme written in PASCAL gives
the reconstruction matrix of the linear attenuation coefficients and simula
tes the matrix and the related tomography. The images are analyzed using th
e profile data showing the internal defect of the objects in order to obtai
n the reliable information at optimum value.
