Broadband dielectric spectroscopy (10(-1)-10(7) Hz) is employed to study th
e molecular dynamics in a set of dendritic poly(ether amide)s involving thr
ee generations. In the amorphous systems a dynamic glass transition is foun
d which scales well with calorimetric data. Additionally, one broadened or
two frequency separated secondary relaxations are detected. They are assign
ed to local fluctuations of the ester, amide, and Boc-protected amine group
s. This interpretation is confirmed by IR spectroscopy and calculations of
the dipole moment of the fluctuating moieties.
