Abstract
To detect target images with equal output correlation peaks, the minimum av erage correlation energy nonzero order joint transform correlator (MACE-NOJ TC) is introduced. The design was carried out using the Lagrange multiplier s technique to minimize the average correlation energy for ail training set images while constraining the correlation peak value to a user-specified c onstant. An ideal reference function for the MACE-NOJTC is derived. Correla tion results are presented. It is observed that the MACE-NOJTC is invariant to scale variations and rotation in the target image.
