A. Eleuteri et al., Pyridinium trifluoroacetate/N-methylimidazole as an efficient activator for oligonucleotide synthesis via the phosphoramidite method, ORG PROC R, 4(3), 2000, pp. 182-189
A new activator is reported for coupling phosphoramidites to a free 5'-hydr
oxyl group during oligonucleotide synthesis. Pyridinium trifluoroacetate/N-
methyl imidazole is a remarkably efficient replacement for 1H-tetrazole in
the solid-supported synthesis of oligonucleotides, This reagent is safe and
inexpensive, is not moisture-sensitive, and is soluble in acetonitrile.
