The distribution of magnetic moments at the manganese sites in magnetically
ordered Mn-Si-C films is derived by zero-field Mn-55 NMR analysis. The spo
ntaneous magnetization with an avenge moment of about 1 mu(B), Per Mn atom
can thus be explained by the ferrimagnetic arrangement of individual Mn mom
ents of (2.98 +/- 0.06) mu(B) and (1.88 +/- 0.16) mu(B). (C) 2000 Elsevier
