Critique of recent empirical research on insight and symptomatology in schizophrenia

During the past decade there has been a resurgence of interest in investiga ting the relationship between insight and symptomatology among clients with schizophrenia. The breadth and depth of the articles have dramatically inc reased over the past 10 years, including the number of empirical research s tudies. This article summarizes the strengths and limitations of the empiri cal research focused on the association between insight and severity of psy chotic symptoms and published between 1990 and 1999.
