Phase-transfer catalysis processes carried out in oxidation of cyclohexene
with potassium permanganate were investigated. The equilibriums and the kin
etics of the permanganate extraction processes were conducted both in the a
bsence and in the presence of the chemical reaction. The effects of the che
mical reaction and its parameters on the phase-transfer processes were evid
enced. The phase-transfer of permanganate anions was found to be influenced
by the concentration of cyclohexene, permanganate, of the phase-transfer c
atalyst and of acetic acid. The nature of the catalysts, the polarity of th
e solvent, and the homogeneity were found also to exhibit an effect upon th
e phase-transfer processes.
