Vi. Vasil'Eva et al., Distribution of the concentrations for the diffusion of amino acids through cation-exchange membranes, RUSS J PH C, 74(5), 2000, pp. 832-835
The diffusion transfer of amino acids through a cation-exchange membrane wa
s studied by laser interferometry. On the basis of the measured concentrati
on profiles of the amino acids in the diffusion layers, it was established
that the facilitated diffusion of the amino acids occurs during the dialysi
s through the cation-exchange membrane in the hydrogen form due to the form
ation of rapidly diffusing cationic complexes of the ions of the amino acid
s with the hydrogen counterion.
