Li. Trakhtenberg et al., Effect of interaction between copper nanoclusters on the catalytic ruptureof the C-Cl bond in halogenated hydrocarbons, RUSS J PH C, 74(5), 2000, pp. 846-847
The activity of new catalysts based on poly(p-xylylene) films containing co
pper nanoparticles in the reaction CCl4 + C10H22 = CHCl3 + C10H21Cl was stu
died. It was shown that the specific activity of nanocatalysts increases sh
arply with the copper concentration and reaches the maximum value near the
percolation threshold. The obtained catalysts exhibited the largest activit
y and an extremely high selectivity among the known catalysts for the metat
hesis of the C-Cl bond. The high catalytic activity of the nanocatalysts wa
s explained by the mutual charging of the clusters in the polymer matrix.
