Retrospective analysis of surgical treatment outcomes for gelastic seizures: a review of the literature

Gelastic seizures are known to be refractory to medical treatment and to da te surgical therapy has yet to pinpoint the best treatment for these refrac tory seizures. There has been a multitude of case reports published on gela stic seizures and different surgical treatments, thus we performed a review of the Literature on gelastic seizures and surgical treatments to elucidat e the best surgical approaches for medically refractory gelastic seizures.
