Abstract
A new reagent, 4-benzyl-1-piperazineglyoxime(BPGH(2)), was synthesized and used for developing a simple and rapid extractive method for the spectropho tometric determination of nickel. This method is based on the selective ext raction of nickel complex from aqueous solution into carbontetrachloride an d the measurement of the absorption at 267 nm. The method was applied to th e determination of nickel ion in some standard and practical samples.
