The results of studies of the fractal forms of macromolecules, whose existe
nce is predetermined by the thermodynamic nonequlibrium and the presence of
deterministic order, are considered. The limitations of the applicability
of the polymer fractal (macromolecular coil) concept are noted. The Vilgis
theory and the possibility of modelling in terms of the percolation theory
and diffusion-limited irreversible aggregation are discussed. It is noted t
hat not only macromolecular coils but also the sections of macromolecules b
etween the topological fixing units (cross-links, entanglements) are stocha
stic fractals; this is confirmed by the model of structure formation in a n
etwork polymer.
