Objectives: Comparison of the familial, socio-economic and cultural factors
among adolescents from German and migrant families; analysis of the risk f
actors for conspicuous behavior among the adolescents.
Methods: 224 graduates of secondary schools in the Kreuzberg district of Be
rlin replied to three questionnaires situations, psychosocial stress and co
nspicuous behavior.
Results: The living situation of the adolescents from migrant, above all Tu
rkish families as compared to their German counterparts, is characterized p
sychosocial disadvantage. but a greater stability within differences are al
so noted. Risk factors in conjunction with conspicuous behavior included in
and socioeconomic factors above all chronic illness, and persecution and d
iscrimination, whereby chronic illnesses were most significantly frequent a
mong the German; while persecution and discrimination frequent among the Tu
rkish adolescents. Cultural differences posed no risks for conspicuous beha
vior.
