Abstract
Two new derivatives of 4-dicyanomethylene-2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyran were synthe sized and characterised. The fluorescence intensity, quantum yield and emis sion wavelength of these derivatives are reported. Films made from poly(ami c acid) with the corresponding chromophore covalently bound show better flu orescence properties than the acid monomer, Copyright (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
