Abstract
We describe a patient in whom balloon rupture occurred three times during i nflation in a stent with restenosis in the left anterior descending artery. The cause of rupture was detected by intravascular ultrasound: a calcified ridge that protruded between the stent struts in the distal stent body. (C ) 2000 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
