Abstract
Double-chained bis(N-octylethylenediamine ( = OE)) complexes, such as Zn(OE )(2)Cl-2, Cd(OE)(2)Cl-2 and Pd(OE)(2)Cl-2, were prepared and their selectiv e solubilities in water/chloroform and water/methanol solutions were studie d. Although all the complexes are poorly soluble in water, they showed clea rly different solubilities in the water/organic mixed solvents depending on each amphiphilic character.
